Joining ICG
ICG is a community of schools that promotes implementation and assessment of school-based, teacher-generated curriculum. ICG schools are guided by research about how students learn, and by an on-going effort to more fully align practice and theory. ICG believes that curriculum should develop from each school’s mission, and from the resources, talents, and passions of its community of learners. ICG schools create learning that is authentic and connected to the world. ICG schools put students at the center of the education process by providing opportunities for them to initiate, analyze, manage, create, and collaborate. ICG schools place particular emphasis on the development of middle-school and high-school courses that maintain the spirit of lifelong learning so often begun in the elementary grades.
ICG’s activities include:
- Professional development for teachers and administrators
- Conferences devoted to devoted to innovation in teaching and learning
- Dialogue between educators in the school and college worlds
- Collaboration among schools toward development of new ways to assess learning
The Independent Curriculum Group is a 501(c)3 non-profit membership organization. The Independent Curriculum Group welcomes members from all sectors of the school world.

How to Join
ICG members enjoy reduced rates at organizational events and free participation in our on-going projects. Annual dues are as follows:
* Small schools are those with total enrollment of less than 200 students or average per-grade enrollment of less than 30 students. Fees for public schools are based on funding per student and other factors. For more information contact Executive Director
